Our conference started last July 23rd with the Mission Critical Design: UX for Extreme Environments. The workshop was given by Ashley Nicodemus, Annie Pugliese, and Blair Koeneman, from the UEGroup.

Know more about our next workshops 👉 HERE

1. Get to Know your attendees 👩

Our first tip is for you to send, before the workshop, a form to all ateendees. There they can tell more about themselves (Job Position, Learning Expectations, Questions). If you want you can share results with the class, aligning everyone’s expectations of the workshop.

2. Plan time-outs to answer questions 🙋

A good workshop should be inquisitive: it means that we are putting the skills into practice. Do you agree? Still, avoid constant stops to answer questions. Leave the attendants comfortable to leave all questions in the chat!

3. Take advantage of Breakout Rooms (Zoom) 💻

Breakout Rooms allow smaller groups of people to come together. They allow you to do group activities. Use those Breakout Rooms!

4. Get Practical ✍️

Use the breakout rooms to do practical activities involving the various groups. The group, when divided into smaller ones, manages to reach different conclusions that add value to the workshop.

5. Use different platforms

Do you know Miro? It’s a great opportunity for everyone in this digital world to take part in the activities.

6. Send the Material 🎁

After the workshop remember to send an email with all materials used in the workshop. This way the material can always be useful.

7. Pro Tip: Have more than 1 coffee-break!

It’s always a new opportunity to stop and have a cup of coffee, and why not network. And why not throw a puzzle to the group or do an energizer activity?
